Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, covers an area of approximately 131,957 km² and has a population of about 10.3 million (2025).

Greece is located in the southern Balkan Peninsula, bordering the Mediterranean, Aegean, and Ionian Seas. It includes over 6,000 islands, about 200 of which are inhabited, such as Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes.
